Halloween Cupcakes

Spooky Sweeties

It's a few days after Halloween, but it's never too late to celebrate! Spice up your party or dinner table with these spooky Halloween cupcakes!

What you need:

- Cupcakes (recipe can be found here)
- Icing
- Piping Bags
- Wilton Tip #3
- Food Colors
- toothpick

Method:

Step 1: Color your icing. I decided to color mine orange and purplish and then left some white. You can go with whatever color you want though.

Spooky Tree: I frosted my cupcake an orange to represent a sunset, but any creepy Halloween color will work. (Keep in mind though that the tree will be a dark color) Then, using a clean piping bag and tip #3, I piped my version of a scary tree onto the cupcake.

Creepy Crawlies: I kept my frosting white so that the spider would stand out. Then, using the same tip #3, I piped a small circle for the head and a large one for the body. Then, I piped 4 legs onto either side of the large circle for the legs.

Cobwebs: Since the cobweb is white, I started with a dark base color. Then pipe cocentric circles onto the cupcake as seen in the first picture. (Doesn't have to be very neat) Then, using a toothpick, start at the center and drag the top layer of icing outward. Leave a little room and repeat all around the cupcake. The result is a very simple cobweb.
