Boxed Cake Recipe

I'm sure by now the posts are getting really repetitve with me telling you how to make the cupcakes everytime and I think its better to find a recipe that works for you. So instead, here is my recipe for cupcakes, using boxed cake mix. You are welcome to use this, but feel free to venture out and try your own recipes. And of course, if you find a good one let me know!

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of cake mix of your choice
  • amount of oil written on the back of the box
  • 12 oz of milk

Method:

Step 1: Pour the cake mix, milk and oil into a mixer and using the paddle attachement, mix for 5-7 min at a medium-high speed. Let it set for 5 min and mix again for 2 min.

Step 2: Line a cupcake tray with baking cups and using an ice-cream scoop, pour a scoop of batter into each cup. You don't have to use an ice-cream scoop ... just make sure that the cup are about 2/3 full. Too little will make flat cupcakes and too much will leave them unbaked.

Note: To color your cupcakes, just add a few drops of food color in the first step until it reaches the desired color.

Step 3: Bake at 350 ̊ F for 20-25min (some ovens may take more or less time).

Step 4: To ensure that your cupcakes are baked to perfection, insert a clean toothpick into the cupcakes. If it comes out clean, they are done, but if they have some batter on it, they probably need to bake for another 5-10 minutes.
