Incarnate Cupcakes

Butterflies:

Butterflies for Anna

Materials:
  • Cupcakes
  • vanilla frosting tinted pale yellow
  • candy melts of your choice (brown for the outline and any other color(s) for the wings)
  • wax paper
  • zip lock bags
  • tape
  • scissors
  • Butterfly Template
Directions:

1. Bake some cupcakes!

2. Frost them with pale yellow frosting.

3. Melt the  candy melts in the microwave, following the directions on the back of the package.
(optional: put the melted chocolate in a warmer to keep it at a liquid consistency.)

4. Take a zip lock baggie and fill it half way with the chocolate (WARNING: it will be a little hot)
then, reinforce one of the corners with tape and cut off 1/8 of an inch. (The picture shows a gallon sized bag, but a small quart sized one will work fine too)

5. Outline the shape of half a butter fly wing onto a piece of wax paper and out a small dollop of whatever color you want in the middle:
6. Now repeat this for the opposite wing, embellish with a few sprinkles if you want and let them harden for about 10 minutes.
7. Now pipe the center of the butterflies on a separate sheet of wax paper and once they are all dry, place them onto your cupcakes at an angle. Now place them on a tray and serve .. or you can enjoy them yourself.
