This is my go to for icing cakes and cupcakes because it's so fluffy, easy to use, and also not very sweet. Unlike buttercream, however, you can't do a crumb coat because it won't harden. So it's important that you use clean spatulas and that you clean it every time you lift it off the cake.

From then onwards, the book is a massive swirl of family loyalty, courtships and proposals. Elizabeth, the main character, we soon learn is a strong willed character, ready to stick up for those that matter to her, and quick to show her disdain for those who don't.

In the varying range of young adult novels published today, many contain similar themes of loneliness, friendship and love. Aristole and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is no different. Ari and Dante are two teenage boys growing up in New Mexico. Saenz's novel, though lacking a defined plot, is so beautiful because of the characters in it. Ari is a boy who is so sad and angry, but doesn't know why. Dante puts up a front of being just the opposite, a bubbly, caring person who instantly befriends Ari, but he to harbors many secrets.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

Percy Jackson is an incredible character stuck in the midst of a modern world with an ancient Greek twist. Born to a mortal mother and a powerful Greek god, Percy faces many obstacles as the two worlds suddenly collide. Percy Jackson was definitely an interesting series, quickly capturing the attention of a thirteen year old. As much as I loved the series though I see the books in a new light now that I'm older.
