Aristole and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is no different. Ari and Dante are two teenage boys growing up in New Mexico. Saenz's novel, though lacking a defined plot, is so beautiful because of the characters in it. Ari is a boy who is so sad and angry, but doesn't know why. Dante puts up a front of being just the opposite, a bubbly, caring person who instantly befriends Ari, but he to harbors many secrets.
